L.L. Bean Biathlon at Fogg Farm

This Tuesday (February 24) about 35 middle school kids participated in an air rifle biathlon at Fogg Farm, in Freeport, Maine. It was an L.L. Bean sponsored event. They learned to shoot air rifles and did lots of skiing. There were kids from the Yarmouth middle school, and a few from the elementary school. There were 5 air rifle stations with one coach per mat. Tiki, Mike, and Joel were all there. One of the stations, with no coach, was for the experienced shooters. That station was run by Jackson Hall. It was a beautiful day, and a great time! These events are a great way to get people interested and learning about the sport, and the turnout is getting bigger every event! If anyone has pictures, please send them to me at thumphries3@gmail.com.

Bethel Biathlon

shooting
Carter and Chester
(thanks for the photos Hall family)

The Bridgton Biathlon was a big success! It was skiing and air rifle shooting. The Moores, Lauklis, and Halls went, along with kids and parents from Marriconeag, Greely, and other schools. SMBC coaches Mike Yeo, Tiki Humphries, and Joel Hinshaw were also there. The turnout ended up being over 20 people. It is so great that there are people in this area interested in biathlon! Keep spreading the word of our club, and encouraging people to try biathlon! Also, if anyone has photos from this event or knows of someone who might, please send them to me or let me know!

Air Rifles at the Laukli's

five out of five!

getting instruction from Tiki

This Thursday Tiki Humphries, Bjorn, Amy, Katrina, Sophia, and Evan Laukli, Ian Moore, and Kellan and Ethan Humphries did a mini air rifle work shop in the Laukli's garage. They shot from inside the garage (since it was raining) to the targets set up on their driveway. It is great to have more families interested in biathlon! The Lauklis and Humphries will be coming on the March Fort Kent trip. Thanks for the photos Bjorn!

homemade range and ski loop at karls

Tiki, Gary, Jackson, Tara, and Joel (and help with the snowmobiling from Patrick Blum) showshoed and shoveled a ski loop and installed some targets in the field at a friend Karl Small's house in North Yarmouth, where we will now be able to shoot 22's outside and hopefully ski! Thanks for the help everyone!
